It's amazing what you think of on the loo...

Ever think you're being really quite clever, only to realise no-one else gets it? Most of the people I told didn't get it, perhaps this is a better forum...

Hermitage.

It has been MONTHS since I last posted - at lease people can't accuse me of droning on!

Life news:

Work has eaten life for as long as I can remember but due to apathy I haven't sent out any advertisement for ages, and as such I have one 1/2 day of work over the next two months (I should be at around 40)

I have everything I need at my parent's house - food, room & board, I'm close to my elderly Grandma who probably won't be around for THAT much longer, room for my business.

But I still feel as if I'm waiting for life to start and I'm nearly 30.

Is it a trap - I can afford to move out - should I? even though when work is rolling in I sometimes spend up to 6 days a week in B&B's.  Would a flat in Cambridge be avarice?

With the announcement that Richard Garriott and Charles Simonyi are going to fly into space as 'space tourists', has the alt-space age really come of age?

Richard Garriott is special, and not just because of his 'Ultima' series of computer games.  Space is in his blood, so to speak. You see when he pays his $35,000,000 to go into space he will be following in the footsteps of non other than his dear old dad! He will become the first second-generation American to fly into space.

Charles Simonyi (middle) in space the first time around

Charles Simonyi by way of comparison will not be waiting a generation... he has recently booked his second flight to the international space station. Paying to go into space is really something, going twice? Repeat after me 'I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous....'

motorway services

Hurray for roadchef services!  they have introduced free wifi (only a non-verified email address required) and you're away!  With so many B&Bs not even having heard about the internet it is sometimes the only time I get to sit down and do some serious heavy-duty spodding!

Although it's fun to look around occasionally and realise I am running my life from a laptop in a piece of 1950's architecture and think: when this building was first raised up it would take an entire office and about 6 staff to do what I do with this tiny little box, mobile phone and a cup of coffee...

further thoughts tomorrow peeps

love you all
